An Invitation to Explore
Have you ever pulled into your driveway and realized you have absolutely no recollection of how you got there? You don’t remember any turns in the road or stop lights; you can’t recall a single pedestrian, car or building you passed or even the route you took to get there. Your mind was somewhere else and your body completed the motion and took you home safely. Thank God, but how unnerving!? How often do you find yourself doing that in other areas of your life? How engaged do you feel in your daily activities? By paying greater attention to the twists and turns in the road and our responses to them, we are able to engage in way that will allow us to feel more fulfilled and satisfied with our lives.
In Yoga class today, my teacher said, “The less we miss [in our awareness] the more intelligent we become.” By intelligence she was not referring to a smarter brain, but to connection–connection to the deeper, wiser parts of who we are: our true nature, our body’s intelligence, connection to the earth and the people who surround us. It is a practice of awareness and presence that helps connect us, so we can become more intelligent to who we really are. Intelligence comes from checking in and paying attention.
So how do we do that?
This blog is an exploration of the Human Condition. It is written with the intention of focusing internal dialogue and inspiring personal growth and expression. It is an opportunity to dig deeper into ourselves–to get to know all the roadways of our lives. It is a call to ask deeper questions and become more purposeful, so we do not find ourselves pulling into the final destination of our lives unable to remember the details of the roads we took to get there.
I invite you to explore with me.
